Urban Planning: Architectural design from sketch to 3-D model
Program description
In the scope of the summer school its participants will create individual projects for the renovation of public space in St Petersburg. Students will get acquainted with the unique and diverse architectural heritage of the Northern Capital of Russia.
They will have the opportunity not only to sketch iconic architectural objects of different eras and stylistic trends, but also to offer their own solutions for the renovation of individual spaces, as well as design and print 3-D models of their projects in the 3-D laboratory of SPbGASU.
Combine theory and practice
The first part of the program combines several lectures and virtual tours to feel the unique atmosphere of the city and architecture of St Petersburg. You will know about the historical and stylistic transformations of the urban and spatial environment and experience various thematic routes using web excursions.
The program includes workshops in architectural sketching. Use your creativity, choose your architectural object and perform several sketches under the guidance of experienced specialists.
Lecturers with many years of experience and young specialists of SPbGASU will tell about the historical and stylistic transformations of the urban and spatial environment megapolis and will guide you through various thematic routes using web excursions. The program includes workshops in architectural sketching.
You will be able to choose the architectural object that interests you and independently, under the guidance of experienced specialists, perform several sketches, with which your creativity will begin.
The second part of the program will include online lectures on the world experience in the renovation of the «gray belt» of large cities. Students will develop the architectural renovation projects of the chosen space or object and design the architectural environment. All creative designs will be presented at the final studio «From Arch-sketch to 3-D model» and the best models will be selected for 3-D printing.
